In short: this website doesn’t use cookies to track you and doesn’t require an account. Apart from the basic technical data every website needs to work, we collect personal information only when you choose to email us. We use it to respond to you and to do business with you, and we never sell, rent or trade it.
Who we are
This website is operated by Foundation Imaging Systems Inc. (“we”, “us”), based in London, Ontario, Canada. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your name, email address and anything you include in your message, such as your organization, job title or project details.
- Website usage statistics. We use a privacy-focused analytics service to count visits and understand how the site is used: pages viewed, the site that referred you, your approximate country, and your browser and device type. It doesn’t use cookies or track you across other websites, and we can’t use it to identify you.
- Technical information. Like any website, the service providers that host and deliver our site receive your IP address and browser details when you load a page. This is needed to deliver the site securely and protect it from malicious traffic.
How we use it
We use the information you send us to:
- reply to your inquiry and evaluate potential projects
- provide our services, fulfil contracts and keep routine business records
- keep our website and systems secure and prevent misuse
We use website usage statistics only in aggregate, to see how many people visit and how they find us. Contacting us doesn’t sign you up for newsletters or marketing emails, and we won’t send you promotional messages without your express consent.
Consent
When you email us, you give your implied consent for us to use your information as described here. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us, subject to any legal or contractual obligations.
Service providers and data outside Canada
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run our business, such as website hosting and content delivery services and business email and productivity services. They receive only what they need to provide those services and are bound by contract to protect it.
These providers may store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information held in another country is subject to its laws and may be accessed by its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities. We may also disclose information where Canadian law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as Canadian legal, tax and accounting requirements oblige us to. After that, we securely delete or anonymize it.
How we protect it
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections, access controls and reputable service providers, to protect it against loss, theft and unauthorized access.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct anything that’s inaccurate. You can also ask us to delete it or withdraw your consent, subject to our legal, tax, regulatory and contractual retention requirements. We’ll respond within 30 days, and may ask you to confirm your identity first.
